CVE-2026-33044 is a cross-site scripting vulnerability in Home Assistant affecting versions starting in 2020.02 and prior to 2026.01. An authenticated user can assign a malicious value to a device entity name. When that entity is displayed on a dashboard Map card, the malicious name is rendered in a way that enables script execution in another user's browser. Exploitation requires a victim to view a dashboard containing the affected Map card and hover over the relevant information point, which triggers the vulnerable rendering path.
