CVE-2026-33785 is a missing authorization vulnerability in the CLI of Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX Series devices. The flaw allows any locally authenticated user, including a low-privilege account, to execute specific request csds operational commands without the privilege checks that should restrict those commands to highly privileged users or users designated for Juniper Device Manager (JDM) or Connected Security Distributed Services (CSDS) operations. Because these commands affect the management plane and downstream devices administered through the MX platform, successful exploitation can extend beyond the local device and result in compromise of managed infrastructure. The issue affects Junos OS 24.4 releases before 24.4R2-S3 and 25.2 releases before 25.2R2; releases prior to 24.4 are not affected.

request csds operational commands. Environments using JDM or CSDS should treat affected MX devices as high priority because exploitation can impact downstream managed infrastructure. No dedicated vendor workaround beyond applying fixed releases is currently available.Patch, then assume compromise.
