CVE-2026-33810 is an improper validation flaw in Go's crypto/x509 certificate-chain verification. While processing excluded DNS name constraints, crypto/x509 fails to correctly apply a constraint to a wildcard DNS Subject Alternative Name when the wildcard SAN uses casing different from that of the constraint. Consequently, a certificate chain that should be rejected under an excluded DNS constraint can be accepted. The issue affects verification of otherwise trusted chains rooted in a CA present in VerifyOptions.Roots or the system certificate pool.
