CVE-2026-33870 is an HTTP request smuggling vulnerability in Netty's HTTP/1.1 processing, affecting versions prior to 4.1.132.Final and 4.2.10.Final. The flaw is caused by incorrect parsing of quoted-string values in chunked transfer encoding extension parameters, resulting in non-compliant handling of malformed chunked requests. By crafting chunked HTTP/1.1 messages with maliciously formed quoted extension values, an attacker can create parser discrepancies between Netty and other HTTP components in the request path, enabling a request smuggling primitive. The issue is fixed in Netty 4.1.132.Final and 4.2.10.Final.
