CVE-2026-35387 is an OpenSSH sshd(8) vulnerability affecting versions before 10.3 in the handling of ECDSA key algorithm restrictions. When PubkeyAcceptedAlgorithms or HostbasedAcceptedAlgorithms contains any ECDSA algorithm entry, sshd may incorrectly treat that configuration as permitting all ECDSA algorithms instead of enforcing only the explicitly listed algorithm names. As a result, intended cryptographic policy restrictions for public-key or host-based authentication are applied incompletely for ECDSA keys. The flaw is an authorization and policy-enforcement error in algorithm selection logic rather than a memory-safety issue.
