CVE-2026-35388 is a vulnerability in OpenSSH ssh(1) before version 10.3 affecting connection multiplexing in proxy mode. When multiplexing confirmation is configured via ControlMaster ask or ControlMaster autoask, the client fails to enforce the expected confirmation check for proxy-mode multiplexing sessions invoked with proxy operations. As a result, proxy-mode multiplexing sessions can proceed without the user confirmation that administrators or users may expect from the configured multiplexing policy. The issue affects ssh client-side handling of multiplexed control connections rather than server-side authentication logic, and OpenSSH 10.3 corrects the confirmation handling for proxy-mode sessions.
