CVE-2026-3611 affects Honeywell IQ4x building management controllers in their factory-default configuration. When no web user module has been configured, the controller exposes its full web-based HMI over HTTP without authentication by design. In this state, the device operates under a System Guest (level 100) context that still provides read/write privileges to any remote party able to reach the interface. Authentication is only enforced after a web user is created through U.htm, which dynamically enables the user module. Because U.htm itself is reachable before authentication is enabled, an unauthenticated remote attacker can create a new administrative read/write account, thereby enabling authentication under attacker-controlled credentials. This is a missing-authentication flaw affecting critical management functionality and can result in unauthorized access to controller settings and administrative takeover of the web management plane. Affected firmware spans versions >= 3.50_3.44 and < 4.36_build_4.3.7.9 across multiple Honeywell IQ4x models, including IQ4E, IQ412, IQ422, IQ4NC, IQ41x, IQ3, and IQECO.
