CVE-2026-37534 is an integer underflow vulnerability in Open-SAE-J1939 affecting versions through commit b6caf884df46435e539b1ecbf92b6c29b345bdfe (2025-11-30). The flaw is in SAE_J1939_Read_Transport_Protocol_Data_Transfer, where J1939 transport-protocol message parsing mishandles a size-minus-overhead calculation when processing malformed CAN frames. A crafted sequence number in a CAN frame can cause the subtraction to wrap, and the resulting wrapped value is then used in subsequent memory operations, leading to an out-of-bounds/arbitrary memory write.
