The issue is described as a regression introduced in July 2025 and impacts FFmpeg command-line parsing or option-processing logic implemented in that source file. Successful exploitation occurs when attacker-controlled input reaches the vulnerable stack-resident buffer handling path, causing memory corruption through out-of-bounds writes on the stack.
