CVE-2026-40200 is a stack-based memory corruption vulnerability in musl libc affecting versions 0.7.10 through 1.2.6. The flaw occurs during qsort operations on extremely large arrays because musl's double-word primitives were incorrectly implemented. When the element count exceeds a platform-dependent threshold tied to Leonardo numbers, qsort can corrupt stack memory. The issue is practically reachable on 32-bit platforms at slightly more than about seven million elements, corresponding to the 32nd Leonardo number. On 64-bit platforms, the equivalent threshold is the 64th Leonardo number, which is considered impractical to reach in real-world conditions.
