CVE-2026-41842 is an uncontrolled resource-consumption vulnerability in the static-resource resolution layer shared by Spring MVC and Spring WebFlux. In affected applications, VersionResourceResolver can perform pathologically slow filesystem resolution for crafted requests targeting versioned static resources. Each request can retain an HTTP connection while resolution completes, allowing concurrent malicious requests to exhaust the application’s available HTTP connection pool. Affected Spring Framework versions are 7.0.0 through 7.0.7, 6.2.0 through 6.2.18, 6.1.0 through 6.1.27, and 5.3.0 through 5.3.48; unsupported versions are also affected.
