CVE-2026-41849 is a high-severity denial-of-service vulnerability in Spring Framework caused by an integer overflow in the evaluation logic of the Spring Expression Language (SpEL). The flaw affects Spring Framework 5.3.0 through 5.3.48, and unsupported versions may also be affected. When an application parses and evaluates attacker-controlled or otherwise untrusted SpEL expressions, a specially crafted expression can trigger integer wraparound behavior in the SpEL evaluator, leading to excessive resource consumption. The issue is remotely exploitable in network-accessible applications that expose SpEL evaluation to untrusted input, without requiring authentication or user interaction.
