CVE-2026-42356 is a wrong-handler deployment vulnerability affecting Apache HTTP Server 2.4.60 through 2.4.68. Handler-selection logic can retain the CGI handler following certain internal redirects issued by CGI programs, causing the destination file to be treated as CGI and executed. The destination must already reside in a CGI-enabled directory and have no other extension recognized by mod_mime. These prerequisites constrain the unintended code-execution capability.
