CVE-2026-42505 is an information disclosure vulnerability in Go's crypto/tls implementation of TLS Encrypted Client Hello (ECH). During vulnerable handshakes, pre-shared key (PSK) identities were included in the unencrypted outer ClientHello, which undermined ECH's privacy goals. A passive network observer collecting TLS handshakes could use the exposed PSK identities to correlate sessions and de-anonymize the server hostname that ECH was intended to conceal. The issue was fixed by changing crypto/tls to omit the pre_shared_key extension from the ECH outer ClientHello and by clearing PSK identities and binders before constructing the outer ECH message. Fixes were applied in Go 1.26.5 and Go 1.25.12.
