CVE-2026-42608 is an unauthenticated path traversal vulnerability in Grav's core FormFlash component. In affected releases, a form-flash session or form identifier supplied in a POST request is used when constructing temporary form-upload paths without sufficient validation as a filesystem path component. An attacker can supply traversal sequences to escape the intended temporary forms directory, create directories at an attacker-selected location under the Grav installation, and write an attacker-controlled index.yaml file. The issue affects Grav releases before 2.0.0-beta.2; the legacy 1.7 branch received the backported fix in 1.7.53.4.

An unauthenticated path traversal flaw in Grav CMS core form-upload handling. An attacker can supply directory-traversal sequences in the __unique_form_id__ POST parameter, causing temporary upload directories and uploaded files to be created outside the intended tmp/forms path. It was used to compromise Clop's Grav 1.7.43-hosted leak site.
A path traversal vulnerability in the FormFlash core component of Grav that allows an unauthenticated attacker to manipulate the session_id parameter in POST requests to traverse the filesystem, create arbitrary directories, and write attacker-controlled index.yaml files.
