CVE-2026-43020 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel Bluetooth management (MGMT) subsystem, in the code path that loads Long Term Keys (LTKs) and later replies to LE LTK requests. The flaw arises because a user-provided LTK encryption size value, enc_size, is stored without sufficient validation and is subsequently used to size fixed-size stack operations. If enc_size exceeds the 16-byte key buffer size, the reply path can write past the bounds of a fixed-size stack buffer. The issue affects the Bluetooth MGMT implementation in the kernel, including code in net/bluetooth/mgmt.c, and was addressed by rejecting oversized enc_size values during management LTK record validation so invalid key material never reaches stored key state.
