CVE-2026-44231 is an information disclosure and privilege escalation vulnerability in Best Practical Request Tracker (RT) affecting versions prior to 5.0.10 and versions 6.0.0 through 6.0.2. The flaw is present in the REST 2.0 API, specifically the user collection endpoint, where a privileged but non-administrative RT user can obtain authentication credentials associated with other RT users, including administrative accounts. Those exposed credentials can then be used against RT feed endpoints to access data in the security context of the impersonated users. The same request that discloses the credentials also rotates them, which invalidates previously distributed feed URLs across the instance.
