CVE-2026-44495 is a prototype-pollution gadget in Axios request configuration processing affecting versions from 0.19.0 before 0.31.1 and from 1.0.0 before 1.15.2. Axios does not itself introduce prototype pollution; instead, the issue arises when inherited properties from Object.prototype are consulted during request configuration handling. If a separate vulnerability or equivalent attacker control has already polluted Object.prototype.transformResponse in the same JavaScript process or browser context, Axios may treat that inherited value as legitimate request configuration or as part of option validation. This can cause attacker-controlled transformation logic to run in the context of Axios request/response handling, turning an existing prototype-pollution condition elsewhere in the application into a usable exploitation primitive inside Axios.
