CVE-2026-45672 affects Open WebUI versions prior to 0.8.12. The /api/v1/utils/code/execute endpoint allows any verified user to execute arbitrary Python code via Jupyter even when the administrator has configured ENABLE_CODE_EXECUTION=false. The vulnerability is caused by improper authorization/feature-gate enforcement on the API endpoint: the application configuration indicates code execution is disabled, but the endpoint still permits execution. This creates a security control bypass that exposes a built-in code execution capability to low-privileged authenticated users.
