CVE-2026-47244 is an uncontrolled resource-consumption vulnerability in Netty's HTTP/2 codec. Before Netty 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.15.Final, DefaultHttp2Connection.DefaultEndpoint initializes its stream limits to Integer.MAX_VALUE, while Http2Settings does not advertise SETTINGS_MAX_CONCURRENT_STREAMS unless the application explicitly configures a value. Consequently, affected HTTP/2 servers neither advertise nor locally enforce a practical concurrent-stream limit by default. A client can retain large numbers of streams on one TCP connection, causing accumulation of per-stream objects, property-map state, flow-control state, and stream-map entries. The absent cap also increases backend work available to HTTP/2 Rapid Reset-style abuse.
