CVE-2026-4769 is a critical vulnerability in certain WAGO System I/O Field series devices caused by an undocumented internal diagnostic capability that is activated during the initial startup sequence. During a brief early-boot window, this hidden functionality is exposed over the network without authentication. An unauthenticated remote attacker who can reach the device during that startup phase can access internal system processes through the diagnostic interface. The issue is consistent with hidden functionality being unintentionally exposed in an operational context and can lead directly to complete compromise of the affected device.
