CVE-2026-48059 is an improper memory-management flaw in Netty's HAProxy PROXY protocol v2 codec. In versions before 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.15.Final, parsing a syntactically valid PROXY v2 header containing nested PP2_TYPE_SSL TLVs at nesting depth two or greater follows a successful decode path but leaves the channel's pooled cumulation ByteBuf permanently retained. The HAProxy message can be propagated and released normally and the decoder can remove itself without an exception, while the underlying heap or direct-memory buffer remains pinned.
