CVE-2026-48103 is an off-by-one heap out-of-bounds read in 7-Zip’s WIM archive handler affecting versions 9.34 through 26.00. The flaw is in CHandler::GetSecurity in CPP/7zip/Archive/Wim/WimHandler.cpp during security descriptor lookup. The per-image SecurOffsets table stores numEntries + 1 cumulative offsets, but the bounds check permits securityId equal to SecurOffsets.Size(). The function then accesses SecurOffsets[securityId + 1], causing a read of one UInt32 past the end of the heap-allocated CRecordVector, whose operator[] does not enforce bounds checks. The securityId value is attacker-controlled through WIM directory metadata. The vulnerable handler is enabled by default and processes WIM-related formats including WIM, split WIM, ESD, and provisioning package archives. The issue is reachable during archive listing and metadata processing, including automatic item enumeration in the graphical file manager.
