CVE-2026-48131 is a high-severity heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the Check Point VPND service affecting the IKE fragment reassembly logic used during early IPsec VPN connection establishment. The flaw is triggered when the service processes a malformed IKE fragment carrying a sequence number value of zero on UDP port 500. Improper validation of this fragment value causes an unsigned integer underflow in the reassembly path, and the resulting underflowed value is then used as an index or offset into a heap-allocated reassembly buffer. This leads to out-of-bounds heap memory corruption and causes the VPND process to terminate unexpectedly before authentication is completed.
