CVE-2026-48170 is a prototype pollution vulnerability in the Node.js SCIM patching library scim-patch affecting versions prior to 0.9.1. The flaw occurs when the library applies a SCIM PATCH operation containing an attacker-controlled value object with a dangerous property path such as a proto-prefixed key. When processed, the library allows mutation of Object.prototype, causing attacker-supplied properties to be injected process-wide into plain objects within the Node.js runtime. Because the pollution occurs at the prototype level, the effect extends beyond the immediate request and can influence application logic across subsequent operations in the same process. The issue is fixed in version 0.9.1.
