CVE-2026-50262 is an out-of-bounds memory access flaw in the X.Org X server and Xwayland affecting __glXDisp_ChangeDrawableAttributes(). The vulnerability is caused by incorrect size validation in GLX request handling, allowing the server to process a client-controlled length that exceeds the bounds of the request buffer. The primary issue is an out-of-bounds read, which can disclose memory contents from beyond the supplied request. A related write path also exists in the same code path, but it requires byte-swapped clients and is therefore not normally reachable in default configurations. Fixed releases include X.Org X server 21.1.23 and Xwayland 24.1.12.
