CVE-2026-50264 is an out-of-bounds heap write in the DRI2 buffer-handling implementation of the X.Org X server and Xwayland. The flaw results from insufficient validation and deduplication of client-supplied DRI2 buffer attachment types. By submitting a request containing multiple DRI2BufferBackLeft attachments together with a DRI2BufferFrontLeft attachment, an X client can desynchronize front-buffer tracking and cause writes beyond the allocated buffer array. The condition may also cause the same buffer object to be released more than once. X.Org X server versions before 21.1.23 and Xwayland versions before 24.1.12 are affected.
