CVE-2026-50663 is a relative path traversal vulnerability in Microsoft Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition Game. The flaw affects version 1.0.0 through versions earlier than 101.103.46651.0. Improper restriction of path traversal sequences allows attacker-controlled content to reference files outside the intended game directory. In the described attack scenario, a specially crafted game scenario file can be used to place or access malicious files outside the expected path boundaries, leading to remote code execution when the content is processed. The issue is remotely reachable and does not require prior authentication, but exploitation requires user interaction.
