CVE-2026-5085 is an insecure session identifier generation vulnerability in Solstice::Session for Perl affecting versions through 1440. The vulnerable _generateSessionID method creates session IDs as an MD5 digest derived from weak and predictable inputs: epoch time, a stringified hash reference, Perl's built-in rand() output, and the process ID. The same insecure construction is also used by the _generateID method in Solstice::Subsession within the same distribution. Because these inputs are guessable, low-entropy, or otherwise predictable, the resulting session identifiers may be predictable to an attacker.
