Missing hash/digest-size and algorithm OID validation permit signature verification functions to accept digests shorter than FIPS 186-4 or FIPS 186-5 permits, or shorter than is appropriate for the relevant public-key type. The issue affects ECDSA/ECC certificate verification when EdDSA or ML-DSA support is also enabled; reporting also identifies affected signature paths involving DSA, ML-DSA, Ed25519, and Ed448.
