CVE-2026-56451 is a critical authentication bypass vulnerability in Siemens Opcenter X affecting all versions prior to V2604. The application does not properly validate the algorithm declared in the JSON Web Token header during token verification. Because the algorithm field is attacker-controlled, the backend may accept forged tokens instead of enforcing an expected signing algorithm, enabling JWT algorithm confusion or acceptance of unsigned tokens. Successful exploitation allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to create arbitrary JWTs, bypass authentication controls, and impersonate any application user, including administrative accounts. In an industrial manufacturing execution system deployment, this can expose both business and operational workflows to unauthorized control.
