CVE-2026-57268 is a high-severity out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the GeoVision GeoWebPlayer Websocket Server, an add-on used by GeoVision products such as GV-VMS and GV-Cloud. The websocket service accepts commands from localhost that include an index parameter. In the saveVideo command path, this index is extracted from the websocket message and used without proper range validation to access internal arrays, including critical-section objects and camera-related structures. The vulnerable flow enters a critical section using crit_sections[index], conditionally accesses array_of_IPCams[index], and then invokes the critical-section release through a virtual function pointer derived from crit_sections[index]. Because the index is not bounds-checked, the code can read beyond intended array boundaries, including an out-of-bounds function pointer, creating a memory-corruption condition that may result in code execution.
