CVE-2026-57270 is a high-severity out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the GeoVision GeoWebPlayer Websocket Server, an add-on component also referred to as Web Plugin or WS Player and used by GeoVision products such as GV-VMS and GV-Cloud to extend browser-based functionality through a localhost websocket service. The flaw affects command handling for the play command, where an attacker-controlled index parameter is used to access internal arrays and related structures without proper range validation. Because the index is reused in operations such as array access, critical-section selection, and function dispatch, a crafted request can cause out-of-bounds memory access. The issue is primarily characterized as an out-of-bounds read, though the vulnerable pattern may also destabilize the process and contribute to broader memory corruption conditions depending on runtime state.
