CVE-2026-57272 is a high-severity out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the GeoVision GeoWebPlayer component, also referred to as Web Plugin or WS Player in some GeoVision product documentation. GeoWebPlayer installs a localhost websocket server used to extend the functionality of GeoVision web interfaces. The vulnerability arises because commands accepted by this websocket server, including the byPass command, use an index parameter to access internal arrays and related program structures without consistently validating that the supplied index is within the valid range. As a result, a crafted websocket request can cause the application to read memory outside the bounds of intended arrays, potentially influencing critical-section handling and downstream function behavior.
