CVE-2026-57273 is a high-severity stack-based buffer overflow in the GeoVision GeoWebPlayer websocket server, an add-on component used with GeoVision products such as GV-VMS and GV-Cloud and also referred to as Web Plugin or WS Player. The flaw is in the handler for the localhost-accessible connectionInfo command, which is intended to provide camera connection details. In the vulnerable handle_connection_info functionality, attacker-controlled JSON string values are copied into fixed-size stack buffers using manual byte-by-byte copy loops without proper bounds checking. The documented instance for this CVE is an overflow in the username field when no key is present. This unsafe copying can corrupt stack memory and destabilize the process, with potential for further control-flow hijacking depending on exploitability conditions.
