CVE-2026-57274 is a high-severity stack-based buffer overflow in the GeoVision GeoWebPlayer websocket server component, also referred to as Web Plugin or WS Player in related GeoVision product documentation. The flaw is in the handler for the connectionInfo command, which is used to supply camera connection parameters through the localhost-accessible websocket interface. In the vulnerable handle_connect_info logic, attacker-controlled JSON string values are copied into fixed-size stack buffers using manual byte-by-byte copy loops without enforcing length limits. The issue is specifically described as affecting the password field when no key is present. This unsafe copying can overwrite adjacent stack memory and corrupt process state.
