CVE-2026-57276 is a high-severity stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the GeoVision GeoWebPlayer websocket server, also referred to as Web Plugin or WS Player in related GeoVision products. The flaw is in the handler for the connectionInfo command, which is intended to provide connection details for cameras. In the vulnerable handle_connection_info logic, attacker-controlled JSON string data is copied into fixed-size stack buffers using manual byte-by-byte copy loops without proper bounds enforcement. The password field is specifically identified as vulnerable when the corresponding key is present, allowing an oversized value to overflow the destination buffer and corrupt stack memory.
