CVE-2026-57277 is a high-severity stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the GeoVision GeoWebPlayer Websocket Server, an add-on used by GeoVision products such as GV-VMS and GV-Cloud to extend web interface functionality. The flaw is present in the handler for the localhost websocket command connectionInfo, which is intended to provide connection details for cameras. In the vulnerable logic, attacker-controlled JSON string fields are copied into fixed-size stack buffers using manual byte-by-byte copy loops without proper bounds checking. This unsafe handling can overflow stack memory and corrupt adjacent data structures, creating conditions for process instability and potential control-flow corruption.
