CVE-2026-58044 is an HTTP request desynchronization vulnerability in the Node.js HTTP client affecting supported Node.js 22.x, 24.x, and 26.x release lines. When the configured header-count limit is exceeded, Node.js can omit surplus headers from the userland IncomingMessage header representations, including req.headers, req.rawHeaders, and req.headersDistinct, while continuing to use the omitted headers internally for HTTP message framing. A Content-Length header can therefore be invisible to proxy code even as Node.js delivers the corresponding request body. Node.js-based forwarding proxies that reconstruct outbound headers from the visible header set while piping the original body over a reused backend connection can emit requests whose forwarded framing differs from the framing interpreted by Node.js.
