CVE-2026-5807 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in HashiCorp Vault caused by unauthenticated access to administrative endpoint families used for root token generation, rekey, and DR secondary operation-token generation. Vault permits only a single in-progress operation for these workflows. An unauthenticated remote attacker with network access to the Vault API can repeatedly initiate or cancel these operations and monopolize the single operation slot, preventing legitimate operators from completing root token generation or rekey ceremonies. The issue is a resource-management and access-control design flaw affecting availability of critical administrative functions. Affected versions include Vault Community Edition up to 1.21.4 and Vault Enterprise up to 1.21.4, 1.20.9, and 1.19.15. The issue is fixed in Vault Community Edition 2.0.0 and Vault Enterprise 2.0.0.
