CVE-2026-59950 affects the deprecated WebSocket server transport in the MCP Python SDK package prior to version 1.28.1. The transport accepted WebSocket handshakes without validating the Host or Origin headers, providing no SDK-level restriction on which web origins could establish a connection. A malicious web page can therefore establish a cross-origin connection to a reachable MCP server and issue JSON-RPC requests. Version 1.28.1 adds request validation before WebSocket acceptance.
