CVE-2026-62871 is a high-severity out-of-bounds write vulnerability in .NET that can allow unauthorized local code execution. The issue is described in the context of unsafe native interoperability logic in which unmanaged memory is allocated with a fixed 1024-byte heap buffer and attacker-controlled input is copied into that buffer using Marshal.Copy without properly validating the supplied length. Because the length parameter is not constrained to the allocated buffer size or the actual input length, the copy operation can write past the end of the unmanaged allocation, causing heap corruption before the buffer is passed to subsequent native parsing logic. The vulnerable pattern is associated with local exploitation and may result in arbitrary code execution in the security context of the affected application.
