CVE-2026-6302 is a high-severity use-after-free vulnerability in the Video component of Google Chrome. The flaw affects Chrome versions prior to 147.0.7727.101 and can be triggered when a user is induced to load a crafted HTML page. The vulnerability arises from improper lifetime management of an object in the Video subsystem, allowing memory to be freed and later reused while still referenced. Under attacker-controlled conditions, the stale pointer can be dereferenced after heap reallocation, causing the component to operate on attacker-influenced data. Successful exploitation can result in arbitrary code execution within the Chrome renderer sandbox.
