CVE-2026-6304 is a high-severity use-after-free vulnerability in the Graphite component of Google Chrome, specifically in Skia’s Graphite GPU rasterization backend. The flaw affects Google Chrome versions prior to 147.0.7727.101 and arises from incorrect memory lifetime handling that allows a freed object in the Graphite rendering pipeline to be accessed after deallocation. Because Graphite operates in Chrome’s GPU process rather than the renderer process, successful exploitation can cross a security boundary. An attacker who has already achieved code execution or equivalent compromise in the renderer process can trigger the vulnerable condition through crafted HTML-driven rendering activity and potentially escape the renderer sandbox via the more privileged GPU process.
