CVE-2026-63938 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel KVM implementation for AMD SEV/SNP guest support. The flaw occurs when processing Page State Change (PSC) requests, where PSC request indices were not validated against the effective size of the scratch area actually available for the request. If a guest supplied a pointer that was not exactly aligned to the start of the GHCB shared buffer, the usable scratch space could be smaller than the maximum assumed size, but the kernel could still calculate request bounds as though the full buffer were available. This mismatch could cause KVM to read past the end of the intended scratch boundary while parsing PSC entries. Available information indicates the resulting access remains within the guest-controlled GHCB page rather than extending into unrelated host memory.
