CVE-2026-65660 is an improper code-generation vulnerability in the ToolPane component of on-premises Microsoft SharePoint Server. ToolPane validates control types against the SafeControls allowlist, then reconstructs ASP.NET Register directives using attacker-controlled attribute values without escaping embedded double quotation marks. An authenticated attacker can inject additional Register directives after validation and before ASP.NET parses the control, allowing registration of arbitrary .NET classes available to the SharePoint worker process. Public exploitation research demonstrates use of XAML deserialization through XamlServices.Parse and ObjectDataProvider-based gadget execution to run attacker-controlled code. Microsoft lists SharePoint Server 2016, SharePoint Server 2019, and SharePoint Server Subscription Edition as affected; research also reports that unsupported SharePoint Server 2013 is affected.

An authenticated SharePoint Server remote-code-execution vulnerability caused by improper quoting during ToolPane Register-directive reconstruction. It permits bypass of SafeControls validation, arbitrary .NET class registration, and XAML deserialization-based execution in the SharePoint w3wp.exe worker process. When chained with a separately patched authentication bypass on anonymous-enabled farms, it could result in pre-authentication RCE.
A high-severity (CVSS 8.8) code-injection remote code execution vulnerability in on-premises Microsoft SharePoint Server. An authenticated low-privileged attacker can abuse ToolPane processing of malicious Register directives to bypass SafeControls checks, instantiate dangerous .NET classes, and execute arbitrary code. Public exploit markup is available; the demonstrated chain can deploy an in-memory webshell. A previously possible pre-authentication chain involving a separate ToolPane authentication weakness was reportedly closed in Microsoft's June 9, 2026 update.
An authenticated remote code execution vulnerability in Microsoft SharePoint Server caused by improper escaping of attributes in ToolPane Register directives, enabling SafeControls-list bypass, arbitrary .NET class loading, and deserialization-based code execution.
