CVE-2026-65791 is a critical remote code execution vulnerability in Windows iSCSI Target Service caused by a heap-based buffer overflow. The flaw can be triggered over the network by sending a specially crafted packet to the service, leading to memory corruption in the target process. The vulnerability does not require authentication or user interaction and affects multiple supported Windows Server releases as well as certain Windows 10 builds where the iSCSI Target Service is present. Microsoft rates the issue as Critical with CVSS v3.1 9.8.
