CVE-2026-6638 is a SQL injection vulnerability in PostgreSQL logical replication affecting ALTER SUBSCRIPTION ... REFRESH PUBLICATION. In affected releases, schema and relation names used during logical replication origin checks were interpolated into SQL commands without proper identifier quoting. A subscriber table creator can therefore craft object names that are later incorporated into publisher-side SQL during REFRESH PUBLICATION, causing arbitrary SQL to execute with the subscription's publication-side credentials. The issue affects PostgreSQL major versions 16, 17, and 18 before 16.14, 17.10, and 18.4 respectively. Versions prior to PostgreSQL 16 are not affected.
