CVE-2026-67278 is an improper cryptographic signature verification vulnerability in MikroTik RouterOS 7.x. RouterOS accepts malformed RSA/PKCS#1 v1.5 signatures during X.509 certificate validation. The permissive validation affects RSA-based services, including TLS/X.509 validation and RSA-based SSH host-key authentication. RouterOS includes an RSA root CA using public exponent 3; this permits construction of a trusted intermediate certificate using the root public certificate without possession of the root private key when signature validation is bypassed. Releases 7.23.4 and 7.24.2 contained an incomplete fix.
