CVE-2026-72824 is an authorization flaw in the Grav API plugin (getgrav/grav-plugin-api) before 1.0.13. The issue resides in PagesController::guardTwigContent(), where the check controlling whether Twig processing can be enabled for page content relies on a bare isSuperAdmin() decision and does not enforce the effective api_key_scopes associated with the API key in use. As a result, a least-privilege API key limited to api.pages.write, when minted on a super-admin account, can enable process.twig during a page save even though the corresponding Twig-related administrative capability is intended to remain outside the api.pages scope. In deployments where Twig content processing is enabled and the editor setting that would otherwise block this path is disabled, attacker-supplied Twig embedded in page content is rendered server-side. This creates a server-side template injection condition that can be escalated to remote code execution.

An API key scope bypass in the Grav API plugin before 1.0.13 that can let a least-privilege API key enable Twig processing during page save, leading to SSTI and remote code execution under specific configuration conditions.
A critical scope bypass in Grav API plugin PagesController that enables SSTI and remote code execution by toggling Twig processing.
